Minimally chaotic graphic design by Swiss designer Raphael Schoen

I’ve always been a big fan of Swiss and Swiss-inspired graphic design. I’m very attracted to its modernistic feel – the use of flat symmetrical graphics, the focus on minimal typography and sans-serif fonts like Akzidenz Grotesk and Helvetica, the overall monochromatic look with a touch of colour using a limited colour palette, and always the perfect amount of white space.

Raphael Schoen takes this perfected geometric look into a new level by adding a bit of messiness and chaos while maintaining its authenticity. He thinks outside the square of traditional hierarchy and isn’t afraid to break basic design rules by moving a title outside the grid or frame an image unconventionally giving the overall design a completely different perspective.
