Pop Artist Andy Warhol on Artsy
We all know Warhol because we have, in one way or another, seen some of his most iconic artworks, like 32 Campbell’s Soup Cans and his portraits of Marilyn Monroe using silk-screen printmaking to achieve his characteristic hard edges and bright colours.
Andy Warhol remains to be one of the world’s most influential artists of the 20th century, having drawn inspiration from his fascination with America’s obsession with consumerism and celebrity culture. 20 years after his death in 1987, some of his artworks have remained to be so widely recognised and have been copied, distributed and shared in so many different forms.
Apart from the artworks we all know, Andy Warhol has a huge archive of rare works that some of us have probably never come across. See this Artsy page for more information about the life of Andy Warhol, his artworks, up-to-date Warhol exhibition listings and some related artists and arts categories.
